"We have purchased our last 5 used cars from Frank Myers Auto Maxx in Winston-Salem (Ford Explorer, Honda Accord, Ford F-150, Nissan Altima and Chevy Cobalt for our son). My first experience with them was 6 years ago when I decided it was time to trade cars. I decided to get something foreign this time. The sales staff was very courteous and didn't pressure me. So I purchased an Accord. I loved the automobile.

About a year later my wife was ready to trade & she decided she would get an Altima. We have found the Service department to be just as friendly as the sales department. A year ago, we were involved in an automobile accident that totaled my Honda. When we returned home in a rented car, I immediately contacted Frank Myers Auto and they helped me to purchase a Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition. We dealt with the same salesperson each time because we liked him so much from the first time. We have found the service department also super friendly and very knowledgeable about service. After my warranty ran out on the first Honda, we began to have the vehicle serviced at another car repair business in the town where we live as it was less expensive. What a huge mistake. They diagnosed a problem wrong and wouldn't own up to it so I took it back to Frank Myers Auto Maxx service department. They figured out what was wrong with it and fixed it quickly and had me on my way home in no time flat. I won't make that mistake again.

"My husband and family and I were looking for a used car to take the place of the one we had before the accident. I looked online and found a car that I thought looked nice and we liked the price. We decided to go look on a Friday. We were just going on a looking and not expecting to purchase a car on the first visit to any dealer. When we got to Frank Myers Auto Maxx we were met by the owner and the guy on TV, Tracy Myers. What a pleasant surprise to meet a local celebrity and impressed that the owner of a company was greeting his customers. It was a VERY hot day and when I told Tracy that I had seen a car on the internet he invited us inside to look for that one instead of going through the lot. I really appreciated that idea. He introduced us to one of his employees named Bruno. We found the car on their website and Bruno went out and brought it into the shop area so we could look at it out of the heat. Very nice touch! We liked the way it looked so we took the car out for a test drive. The car was very nice and handled like a new one. After the drive, we went in and talked with Bruno about what it would take to get into the car. I told him we couldn't get the car that day because we never buy the first car we see.We left with a handshake and a fair offer to buy the car.

On Monday or Tuesday, we returned and purchased the car dealing again with Bruno. This was one of the easiest transactions I have ever had. He explained everything that needed to be done and did not try to pressure us into buying anything extra that I didnt want.

I have never been on a car shopping trip where we decided to buy the first car we saw. It usually takes us weeks of looking. The people at Frank Myers Auto Maxx were excellent to deal with and really made us feel good. We have told several people that they needed to visit Frank Myers Auto Maxx when they need a different car."

She asked me to sit with her through the sales process. Later on my husband and I came just to test drive several different models for her to help her out. "We, like most people, are intimidated, when it comes to car shopping. We have been purchasing another car every 2 or 3 years, and this was our very first time shopping at Frank Myers Auto Maxx. When we drove into this dealership, they were waving us into a parking spot. We were approached by a really nice guy and he thanked us for coming in (WOW! A young man with manners. What a surprise). We felt right at home and got a good car that we had been shopping for and helped us with some good financing. Also know that this is a very energetic place with fun stuff going on and at times can be very loud and "over the top". My teenage son said it was like Las Vegas at a car dealership. LOL! So if you are looking for your mom and dads car dealership, this is not it."

Problems and How To Handle Them

Uncle Frank Sez: "As Britney Spears once said...Oops, I did it again!"

I goofed. Actually, my team goofed but it's all the same difference. You see, when your family name is on the sign you are accountable REGARDLESS of who actually screws up. As much as it hurts me to admit it...YES...we are human and we make mistakes (just like the next guy). So here is the story:

I just got an email from our partners at Car Dealer Check. They were alerting me that someone had posted a review. Since most of our customers post really good reviews, I was excited to read who our newest "Fan" was. Boy, was I disappointed. Here is what I read -

"I bought a 2002 ford explorer back in Feb. The brakes were suppose to be replaced , but 2 weeks later they started grinding and not working properly.Now the explorer is sitting in my driveway and will not start....and I haveonly had it about 3months.. I was told I was getting a great vehicle but now after putting 3000 dollars down on it , I am wondering how am I gonna get to work tonight."

My heart sank. Luckily, I was still at the dealership and our Xtreme Satisfaction Team reached out to this unhappy customer in less than 10 minutes. Here is how they responded -

"I apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused you and I am here to make it right. It looks like your review was written at 6:50pm...it is 7ish and the Xtreme Satisfaction Team is still here at the dealership wanting to assist you. PLEASE call us direct so that we can get your Explorer to our service department and get your issue resolved. We want you to be driving your vehicle and enjoying it. We are here to help you do that! If you don't reach out to us tonight, please call our service dept starting at 7:30 tomorrow morning. Their direct number is 336*8310656. Once again, these things are never fun but we are committed to making you a believer in the Frank Myers Auto Maxx experience. We look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you!"

So we are here waiting for dawatson41 to call or email us back so we can assist him. My challenge to other dealerships is to do the same. Be transparent. Encourage your customers to reach out to you (preferably by phone). I'll keep you posted.

- UPDATE - On May 12th at 3:59am, dawatson41 responded: "thanks so much for your reply, i will call first thing this morning after i get off work."

It was 12 noon and we had not heard from dawatson41 so...we reached out again with the email below.

"Just a quick reminder to PLEASE call a member of our Xtreme Satisfaction Team or our Service Department as soon as you can. We are here to assist you with your Explorer and to find a complete resolution. If you no longer need our help, please let me know. Thanks again and we look forward to hearing from you."

- UPDATE - It's 6:58pm on May 12th and we still haven't heard from dawatson41. We are still eager to assist him and will try again tomorrow.

"I am very happy with my experience at Frank Myers Auto Maxx. Tracy, Rich, John, Keith and all the others I worked with made sure I had all my questions answered and were ready to help. They all helped to take care of me. There was no pressure and no hassle. I was surprised to find this at a car dealership. When I didn't see the car I wanted, they told me it was in their service department and they brought it down and ready for me. It was in great shape and I loved it! When I picked up my license tag they remembered my name and greeted me with big smiles and a friendly handshake. Everyone asked me how I liked my new car. Very courteous and polite. Rich and the finance department were a little slow but that was understandable because of my shabby credit. They were still very easy to work with. All of the paperwork was clearly explained and Rich made sure I felt unpressured every step of the way. I like going back to Frank Myers Auto to get my car serviced and my oil changed. "My Isusu Rodeo finally kicked the bucket after 15+ years.It was bought new way before I was married and had kids. It has some sentimental value but my wife has been practically begging me to get us another car. So I caved in and went to Frank Myers AutoMaxx first. I had seen an FJ Cruiser on their website and i went to drive it. This was a very surprising day of buying a new car. Smiling salespeople that seemed to really care. Extra nice cars with a free warranty on every car. I LOVED the arcade and the popcorn. It was a good time and I feel that I made some new friends.
